AMERICAN
BOAT BUILDERS
AND REPAIRERS ASSOCIATION ( ABBRA)
ABBRA is a nationwide association of the country’s leading vessel repair yards. Also
represented are a large cross section of recreational boat builders. This organization
conducts regional and national meetings and workshops to network cutting edge technology
and trends in the repair business. Crosby Yacht Yard is proud to be associated with ABBRA
for over 15 years.
CAPE COD MARINE TRADES
ASSOCIATION (CCMTA)
The CCMTA is a regional marine trade group founded to address the various issues affecting
marine businesses on Cape Cod. It also works with the MMTA to monitor potential
legislation that may effect the public’s enjoyment of the waters. Another mission is
to promote boating on Cape Cod by "buying and servicing" your boat where you
will use it. The CCMTA also sponsors the Falmouth In Water Boat Show in May of every year.
We also work closely with the local technical schools to foster participation between
businesses and promising young adults wishing to choose a career in the marine trades.
Crosby Yacht yard is actively involved with the CCMTA. Our representatives currently serve
on the Board of Directors. Past service has also included Presidency of the Association.
MASSACHUSET MARINE
TRADES ASSOCIATION (MMTA)
The MMTA is a powerful statewide trade association representing all facets of the
recreational marine industry. The membership roster is made up of well established marine
companies in the Commonwealth of MA from finance, insurance, and brokerage to yacht sales,
accessories and boatyards. MMTA dovetails with the national boating associations and keeps
a watchful eye on any legislative issues that may affect boating and the public’s use
of the waterways. The MMTA also owns and produces the annual Fall Boston In-Water Boat
Show. Crosby representatives have served as President of the Association and currently
serve on both the Board of Directors and Boat Show Committee.
YACHT BROKERS
ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (YBAA)
YBAA is a national network of cooperating yacht brokers. The purposes of the association
are to promote ethical business practices, establish and utilize common terms and
disciplines, and foster harmony in the yacht brokerage industry. Members must follow a set
of By-Laws that aim to produce the above results. Crosby Yacht Yard has been an active
member for many years and is proud of it continued affiliation .
MARINE RETAILERS
ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (MRAA)
Since it's inception in the fall of 1971 by a group of 12 committed marine
dealers, MRAA has had a vital voice in the marine industry. The
purpose of starting a not-for-profit corporation was to "promote pleasure
marine industry and welfare retailers." This purpose has not changed.
Corsby Yacht Yard has been a proud member of this affiliation for many
years.
